The 2016 Cadillac ATS-V has been in production since 2012 and has gained considerable success in the high-performance car segment. As a newer model, Cadillac has not yet reached the top tier of its class, competing with established rivals like the BMW M3, Mercedes AMG E63, and Audi RS4. However, its lineage from the remarkable CTS gives it a unique edge. Despite its relative novelty in the market, the ATS-V has much to prove to compete with well-established brands in the automotive world.

Exterior Design
The exterior design of the ATS-V is striking and does not fall short compared to its competitors. With aggressive contours and sharp lines, the front end of the car appears fierce and powerful. The headlights are beautifully designed, playing a significant role in its overall aesthetic. Carbon fiber front and rear splitters add to its visual appeal and strength, especially in low-light conditions.
Equipped with 19-inch wheels and "Michelin Pilot Super Sport" tires, the ATS-V offers excellent grip on the road. I personally tested the vehicle, and I found it to be exceptional; we'll discuss the driving experience shortly.
Interior Design
Describing the interior design of the Cadillac ATS-V can be challenging as it shares similarities with other models in the lineup. While not necessarily bad, it lacks uniqueness. The cabin is very comfortable, providing a significant level of luxury for the driver to enjoy. Unfortunately, it does not feature the same digital cockpit found in the Escalade or CTS-V, instead opting for an analog system, which is somewhat surprising for such a distinguished vehicle.
Nevertheless, it is still possible to opt for "Recaro" front seats, which I highly recommend for anyone considering this car. The cotton finish, side bolsters, and adjustable bottom cushion provide excellent support, especially during sharp turns. Overall, the interior design delivers the desired sporty and elegant feel, rivaling the exterior's appeal.
Safety and Technology
The ATS-V comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features, earning a 5-star rating in crash tests conducted by the International Road Safety Administration, similar to its counterpart, the CTS-V.
It includes airbags in the front, sides, and rear for protection against side impacts and rollovers. Standard features include electronic stability control, anti-lock braking system, traction control, lane departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring. One feature I particularly appreciated is the tension removal on the seatbelt when fastened, which secures the driver effectively during rapid acceleration and hard braking.
The vehicle is equipped with a "Bose" audio system that delivers clear sound even at high volumes. However, the Cadillac infotainment system is somewhat slow and could benefit from improvements.
Driving Experience
Driving the Caddy ATS-V feels like operating a finely tuned machine. Upon reaching 3000 RPM, there is a noticeable turbo lag, but once you surpass that threshold, the twin-turbo engine reveals its full potential. To truly experience what this car can do, I recommend taking it to a racetrack. In a straight-line race against the BMW M3, Mercedes AMG E63, and Audi RS4, it would surely outpace them, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 3.8 seconds and reaching 200 km/h in about 14 seconds.
Equipped with 14.6-inch front brakes and 13.3-inch rear brakes, it provides impressive stopping power, with a braking distance of only 33 meters from 100 km/h, which is commendable for a mid-size sedan.

The 2016 Cadillac ATS-V stands out as a formidable competitor at a fair price. While it may not be as thrilling as the CTS, its power makes it enjoyable to drive. We loved it!
