Overview of the 2016 Lexus LX570

Al Futtaim Motors held a media event for the official launch of the all-new 2016 Lexus LX570. This ‘refreshed’ model includes the following changes:

• New look; primarily redesigned front and rear end
• 8-speed automatic transmission
• Redesigned interior
• New 12.3-inch screen and remote touch interface
• New LED headlights
• Pre-crash alert
• Pedestrian detection
• 21” alloys
• Sequential LED turn signals
• Available in 2 new colors
• Head-up display
• Larger rear entertainment screens
• Lexus Climate Concierge
• Variable Gear Ratio Steering
• New driving modes

The performance of the car remains the same. However, the trim levels have been reduced to three: Premier, Prestige, and Platinum.

First Impressions

Like the Land Cruiser event, the LX570 event also included about 20 minutes of driving to get a taste of the car. Here are my initial thoughts:

• The car is heavy
• Looks are controversial
• Very spacious
• Steering is just right
• Gearbox is smooth for daily driving and punchy when floored
• The suspension is better than the Land Cruiser
• Brakes are spongy
• Interior is beautiful and loaded
