The second-generation model pays homage to its predecessor with a pronounced contour that accentuates the prominent wheel arches.
Performance and Efficiency
The 2017 Audi A5 showcases a sophisticated mix of materials and a lightweight design, shedding as much as 60 kilograms compared to its predecessor. It boasts a drag coefficient of just 0.25, positioning it as a leader in aerodynamics within its segment.
Interior Space and Practicality
Inside the cabin, occupants benefit from increased dimensions and a longer wheelbase, providing greater space. The cargo room increases by 10 liters to a generous 465 liters, making the A5 more practical than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class at 400 liters and the BMW 4-Series at 445 liters.
Engine Options
At the heart of the 2017 A5 are two TFSI units, delivering either 190 horsepower or 252 horsepower. Both engine options consume up to 22% less fuel than the previous model, transferring power to the road via a seven-speed transmission.
Performance Variant: Audi S5
The turbocharged V6 engine found in the performance-oriented S5 variant produces an impressive 354 horsepower, directing its power through an eight-speed transmission to all four wheels. The S5 reaches 100 km/h in an astonishing 4.7 seconds, slightly quicker than the BMW 440i, which completes the sprint in just over 5 seconds.
