2017 Mercedes GLE: Design and Specifications
Tags:
Introduction
Mercedes is currently preparing a new model of the GLE, which has been spotted during its initial testing phase. The second generation is expected to be designated with the production code "W167". The images indicate that this model is smaller and more rounded compared to the current version, "W166".
Exterior Design
The exterior design of this SUV stands out despite its heavy camouflage, showcasing some elements from the GLC while maintaining a strong presence with wider wheel arches. With an increased wheelbase, the interior space is expected to enhance accordingly. Additionally, the hood appears more pronounced than the current model, complemented by distinctive headlights that set it apart from its predecessors despite some shared traits.
Engines and Features
The vehicle is expected to be available with various engine configurations, including:
- V6 Twin-Turbo
- V8 Twin-Turbo high-performance variant
- Plug-in Hybrid
All these configurations will feature all-wheel drive, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Future Releases
With the new version expected to launch in 2017, another model from Mercedes, the GLE Coupe, is anticipated to be unveiled once the full design of this vehicle is completed.
