Unveiling the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder
Nissan UAE recently unveiled the highly anticipated 2018 Nissan Pathfinder to a group of media representatives from across the region, set against the stunning backdrop of the Hajar Mountains in Fujairah. The presentation featured an African safari theme.
Pathfinder's History
The Pathfinder has been revitalized with greater capabilities than ever before, carrying forward a legacy that began in 1987 with the launch of its first generation. The new model has undergone aesthetic enhancements along with significant upgrades.
Design and Exterior Appearance
Fadi Ghosn, CEO of Marketing at Nissan Middle East, stated: "For the 2018 model, the Pathfinder has received more than just cosmetic changes; it now offers enhanced power, improved driving dynamics, and new driver assistance features for safe and comfortable family adventures."
Technical Specifications
The new model features both interior and exterior changes. With direct fuel injection, the engine's power has increased by 17 horsepower and 14 Nm of torque compared to the previous model, generating a total of 271 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque. The aesthetic updates include a new front grille that reflects the company's latest design direction with a V-shape, along with redesigned front and rear lights and new front and rear bumpers.
Performance Enhancements
Nissan also improved the vehicle's steering response by making the springs 11% stiffer in the front and 7% stiffer in the rear to reduce body roll and provide better traction on all terrains. The third-generation CVT transmission, which is also used in the Maxima, has reduced the vehicle's weight by 50 kg compared to the previous model while mimicking the performance of a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Trims and Pricing
The 2018 Nissan Pathfinder is available in three trims (S, SV, SL), with prices starting at AED 119,000 for the two-wheel drive version. The price for the four-wheel drive version ranges from AED 126,000 to AED 169,000. Some standout features in the fully equipped version include:
