2023 Honda Pilot Updates: Design and Performance

2023 Honda Pilot

Honda has revamped the appearance of its entire lineup, and now it's the turn of the Pilot, their long-standing SUV. The good news is that they have made significant changes, transforming this vehicle entirely. Here are the details:

2023 Honda Pilot Exterior Design

Exterior Design

First and foremost, this vehicle appears massive—and it truly is. Following the update of the CR-V, Honda has attempted to mimic its design cues in the Pilot, and they have somewhat succeeded. While it may not be the most beautiful SUV out there, its design is practical and functional. Realistically, those who purchase this vehicle are often families, so it serves its purpose well.

This is where the Pilot excels in its category. It is a pure family vehicle designed to comfortably accommodate seven passengers.

  • The second row seats two people.
  • The third row seats three people.
While this arrangement is not traditional, it gets the job done. Personally, I found the second row to be more comfortable. Visibility is excellent from all angles, and external noise has been significantly reduced. Great job, Honda!

Additionally, the Touring model is packed with all the features Honda offers, including the Honda LaneWatch system. The new entertainment system is Android-based, which is a positive upgrade. Overall, I was impressed!

2023 Honda Pilot Driving Experience

Driving Experience

The new Pilot is powered by a 3.5L V6 engine that delivers 280 horsepower and 355 Nm of torque. While this performance is decent, it isn't extraordinary given the size of the vehicle. However, I don't mind, as this SUV is not designed for high performance. Driving it is one of the smoothest experiences I have had. The responsiveness is quick, and the transmission functions as expected for a vehicle of its kind. That said, you won't be cornering like a rally driver; you will feel the vehicle's bulk when turning. This is a car meant for daily driving with a bit of off-road capability. Overall, it offers a fantastic package within its class.

The Pilot accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and comes to a stop in 3.2 seconds, which is commendable. Overall, I am satisfied with its performance, especially regarding fuel efficiency, which averages 12.7L/100km. Bravo, Honda!

Conclusion

This vehicle is ideal for anyone looking for a spacious family car. If that’s what you are in the market for, then this is your vehicle!
