Abu Dhabi's MotorWorld Initiative: Enhancing Connectivity for Used-Car Dealers

MotorWorld Abu Dhabi

Background of the MotorWorld Migration

A while ago, it was reported that all used-car dealers were mandated to shift from the city of Abu Dhabi to the purpose-built MotorWorld in 2012 following the orders of the Department of Economic Development. However, the result of this migration did not turn out to be fruitful as the dealers suffered losses in business due to the lack of proper advertising, vehicle inspection, and registration centers.

New Developments to Improve Accessibility

Fortunately, their concerns have been addressed as the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport is building a new access road from the main highway to increase visibility and connectivity for the dealers. Additionally, a new ADNOC service station is set to open in the area.

Timeline for Completion

  • The ADNOC station is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
  • The access road construction will be finished by the first quarter of next year.
  • A foreign-exchange provider will also open its doors by the end of 2014.
