Spotted: All-New Alfa Romeo Stelvio

Alfa Romeo has released images of a camouflaged test mule for the next-generation Stelvio SUV, which represents a major update for the model since its introduction almost nine years ago.
The test mule, wearing red and black camouflage with the carmaker's legendary crest and the Biscione dragon, was recently caught testing in cold weather in Sweden.
Transition to STLA Large Platform
Shifting from the prior Giorgio architecture, the new Stelvio is based on Stellantis' STLA Large architecture that also underpins the likes of the Dodge Charger. The platform can support combustion engines as well as electric drivetrains, keeping with Alfa Romeo's approach of providing varied powertrains.
Design and Features
Although it was camouflaged, we attempted to look for as many details as possible. The new Stelvio looks bigger than the previous model, with the STLA Large platform accommodating lengths ranging from 187.6 to 201.8 inches, compared to the existing model's 184.5 inches.
A new upper LED strip and divided headlamp design can be seen through the camouflage, which points towards a new lighting signature. Flush door handles and a more rakish rear profile were also noticeable.
Powertrain and Performance
Interestingly, the test car does not have any exhaust outlets visible and has a high-voltage sticker, indicating that Alfa Romeo is experimenting with an electric version of the Stelvio. This is consistent with the company's focus on electrification as it seeks to completely reboot itself with a fresh start.
Expected Launch and Upcoming Models
The new Stelvio is due to be officially revealed later this year, and go on sale in 2026. The next Giulia will follow, featuring a crossover fastback design, Alfa Romeo has promised.
