2019 Renault Duster launched in Abu Dhabi

Al Masaood Automobiles, the official distributor for Renault vehicles in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, launched the all-new Renault Duster at the exquisite Dusit Thani Hotel in the presence of senior executives and members of the press. 

With over 55,000 units sold in the Middle East and 2,450,000 across the world, the Renault Duster offers a refreshing take on 4WD mobility, equipped with exceptional all-road capabilities and unmatched affordability.

A key component in aiding Renault increase its current market share from 4% to 6% across the Levant region and sell 100,000 units annually, the new Duster rocks a rugged exterior with a refreshed design boosted by a chrome grille and protruding fender garnishes.

Analyzing the market, sales are expectedly lesser than previous models with the automotive market seeing numbers fall 22% in 2016, 12% in 2017, and 13% in 2018, equating to 47% lower sales than three years ago.

In the segment that it competes in, the Duster currently holds 12% market share with the Ford EcoSport having 10%, the Hyundai Creta at 13%, and the Nissan Kicks leading the pack at a strong 40%.

Matching the improvements on its exterior, the interior of the new Duster gets a makeover as well, with improved sealing accounting for 60% noise reduction compared to previous models. Driver aids include Hill Descent Control, Multiview Camera and Blind Spot Warning, a 4x4 monitor, automatic air conditioning, Remote Engine Start, and a seven-inch touchscreen tablet.

The 2019 Renault Duster is available in both 2WD and 4WD specifications with a choice of two petrol engines; 1.6L (4x2) with a CVT automatic transmission, and 2.0L with a 4-speed automatic transmission (4x4).
