Unveiling the DBX

Aston Martin has officially unveiled its first SUV, the DBX, after much anticipation from car enthusiasts worldwide. This launch represents a significant opportunity for the British luxury car brand to expand its portfolio.
Design and Development
The new design is the culmination of years of research and development, with digital design work beginning in 2015 and real-world testing starting in Wales last year.

Statement from the CEO of Aston Martin
Commenting on the launch, Dr. Andy Palmer, President of Aston Martin Lagonda and Group CEO, stated: "Words cannot express how significant the DBX is for the Aston Martin brand, and our excitement for its launch. Throughout the development journey of this beautiful sports utility vehicle, the company has ventured into new horizons and inspiring directions that have never been explored before. The DBX marks an important milestone in the third and final phase of our ambitious 'Second Century' plan, reflecting the promised expansion of our portfolio and initiating production at Aston Martin's second manufacturing facility. This achievement is rooted in our heritage and is enhanced by insights and ideas from external consulting groups, including the Women’s Advisory Council. The DBX represents a true accomplishment for the British luxury brand, and I am confident it will exceed the expectations of everyone who experiences it in their daily lives."
Engine Performance
The vehicle is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, the same engine used in the DB11 and Vantage models. The DBX delivers an impressive 550 horsepower and 700 Newton-meters of torque, finely tuned to meet the specific needs of this model.
Along with its distinctive sound, Aston Martin's active exhaust system ensures a soundtrack worthy of a luxury sports SUV, filled with excitement and prestige. The unique performance of the engine extends beyond its sound to advanced technologies, including:
- Cylinder deactivation feature to enhance fuel efficiency
- Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.5 seconds
- Top speed of 181 mph
- Nine-speed transmission to deliver power and torque to all four wheels

Price and Availability of the DBX
The price of the vehicle in the Middle East is AED 848,000. The DBX is now available for sale, with the first customer deliveries scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2020.
