Limited Edition and Unique Specifications
The Aston Martin V12 Speedster will be available to customers worldwide as a limited edition, with only 88 cars produced. Today, the brand has revealed details about a suite of customized and unique specifications, making these vehicles irresistible masterpieces for collectors of exceptional cars.
Historical Legacy
The new car beautifully aligns with a heritage that shines through the exceptional DBR1 model and the CC100 concept unveiled by Aston Martin in 2013, marking the centenary of the brand's excellence in the world of sports cars, reflecting over a century of sports legacy and exceptional design capability.
DBR1 Successes
The DBR1 is Aston Martin's most successful racing car to date, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1959 and the Nürburgring 1000 km race, as well as securing victories in the same race in 1957 and 1958.
A Series of Victories
After its debut in 1956, the DBR1 recorded a series of famous victories, including:
- Sportscar race at Spa (Tony Brooks, 1957)
- Goodwood Tourist Trophy (Sir Stirling Moss and Tony Brooks, 1958; Sir Stirling Moss, Carroll Shelby, and Jack Fairman, 1959)

DBR1 Design
Despite being designed for competitive racing, the DBR1 is a precursor to some of the most famous cars in the brand's history. The car features exceptional design touches by Frank Feeley; in collaboration with Ted Cutting, the chief race car designer, the DBR1 has become a pure masterpiece, renowned as one of the most beautiful and extraordinary cars to this day.
Technical Specifications
Since its inception in 1958, the car has been equipped with a 2992 cc engine, with six cylinders arranged in a straight line, enhanced by a David Brown five-speed gearbox. The engine powers this 800 kg sports car to exceed speeds of 150 mph.
Race-Specific Model
Produced as a race-specific model and without directly borrowing designs from road cars, only five DBR1 models were made, four of which were used to achieve victories for the Aston Martin Works team, while one was utilized for personal driving.

Engine Performance
At the heart of the new car lies a modified high-performance version of Aston Martin's 12-cylinder engine, with a capacity of 5.2 liters and equipped with twin turbochargers, capable of generating 700 PS and 753 Nm of torque. This engine delivers exceptional performance and remarkable responsiveness, accompanied by the distinctive roar of its twelve cylinders.
Thanks to this, the car accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds, achieving a top speed of 198 mph, a remarkable feat for a car featuring a convertible top and no windscreen.
Pre-Order Information
It is worth noting that the pre-order phase for the V12 Speedster, designed according to the bespoke DBR1 specifications, has begun. The brand will manufacture these cars at its headquarters in Gaydon, with deliveries starting in mid-2021.
