Introduction
A few days ago, we attended an online presentation for the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron concept. Since we signed a non-disclosure agreement regarding any details about the vehicle until its launch, we had to keep our pens at bay until it was time to discuss it. Now, it’s time to share everything about the stunning Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron!
Performance and Technology
The upcoming models provide a clear glimpse of the top-tier engine in this category that will enter production, both equipped with the same technologies in the drivetrain:
- Two electric motors with a power output of 225 kW.
- Quattro all-wheel drive system for continuous driving.
- Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds.
- Electronically limited top speed of 180 km/h.
Battery and Electric Range
The car is powered by a large battery with a capacity of 82 kWh, which occupies almost the entire space beneath the chassis between the axles. The electric range features are as follows:
- The vehicle can cover a distance exceeding 450 kilometers according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP).
- The rear-wheel-drive model exceeds 500 kilometers under the same testing conditions.
Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB)
The Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB) controls the electrical system of the Q4 e-tron concept, a platform that the Volkswagen Group will use for the structure of many future electric vehicles, ranging from compact classes to mid-size luxury segments.
Audi's Electric Vehicle Strategy
The four-ring brand commenced its electric vehicle production campaign with the global debut of its fully electric SUV, the Audi e-tron, in September 2018. By 2025, Audi plans to launch more than 20 fully electric vehicles in key global markets, aiming for 40% of its sales to come from electric models.
Audi's electric SUVs include both the Audi e-tron and the Audi e-tron Sportback. A range of distinctive models will also be available in classic body styles, such as Avant and Sportback. Audi's electric vehicle lineup is expected to encompass various vehicle segments in the markets, ranging from compact cars to luxury vehicles.
