Chrysler and Ford Consider Establishing Factories in Saudi Arabia
According to Arab News, the Saudi-American Business Council has reported that automotive companies, Chrysler and Ford, are seriously considering proposals to set up manufacturing plants in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Statements from Officials
Nabeel Hussein, the regional director for the Western Province of Al-Jazira Agencies and a member of the National Committee for Automotive Representatives at the Saudi Chambers of Commerce, stated that Ford has been studying the establishment of production lines in the local Saudi market for over a year.
Challenges and Decisions
He added that Ford was initially hesitant due to the lengthy procedures for setting up projects, but has since changed its mind because of emerging circumstances.
