Clemens Schmid's Preparations
Dubai - Rising racing star Clemens Schmid has confirmed his readiness to surpass Saudi champion Abdulaziz Al Faisal at his home ground next month, aiming to give Al Nabooda Racing a competitive edge and boost the team's hopes of clinching two titles in the Porsche GT3 Challenge Middle East.
Team Performance
Schmid, along with his teammate Kareem Al Azhari, has helped elevate their Dubai-based team to the top of the overall standings as they conclude the first half of the season. The young Austrian driver is now focused on raising his ambitions and competing for the drivers' title as well.
Competition Details
As Al Nabooda Racing leads by 20 points over their closest rivals, Falcons of Saudi Arabia, Schmid is currently trailing overall drivers' leader Abdulaziz Al Faisal by 12 points.
Despite having won four out of six rounds this season in the Porsche GT3 Challenge, a mechanical failure in the third round in Abu Dhabi hindered his competition and allowed Al Faisal to gain an advantage.
Statements from Clemens Schmid
The young Austrian stated: "As a race car driver, my goal is always to win and progress. However, I prioritize the team's interests before my own. It will be challenging to stop Abdulaziz's winning streak, but with hard work and determination, I believe I can surpass him."
Clemens Schmid's Results
Schmid has achieved remarkable results since his debut in the Porsche GT3 Challenge series last season. He has started from pole position 13 times out of 15 races and has secured victory in 10 of those.
Kareem Al Azhari's Role
He was quick to highlight the significance of his teammate Kareem Al Azhari's contributions, who currently sits third in the overall drivers' standings, in bolstering Al Nabooda Racing's lead in the single-make racing series.
Schmid remarked: "Kareem has delivered a strong performance this season, especially considering this is his first full season in the championship. Mastering this car is no easy feat, and I believe he will improve significantly throughout the season as I can see his performance getting better and better each time."
Kareem Al Azhari's Performance
He added: "Kareem has shown impressive performance this season. This is his first full season in the championship, and mastering this car is challenging. I believe he will continue to improve significantly as I see his performance getting better each time."
