Al Tayer Motors, the official Ferrari dealer in the UAE, showcased the 296 GTS for the first time in the Middle East at the exclusive Ferrari Lounge during Ramadan at Burj Al Arab. The 296 GTS was launched last week as a mid-engine two-seater Spider Berlinetta, representing the latest and most advanced model from Maranello.

Performance of the 296 GTS
The 296 GTS complements the 296 GTB by completely redefining the concept of driving pleasure, ensuring the purest sensations and emotions during everyday use, not just when pushing the car to its performance limits.
Engine and Technology
The 296 GTS features a new V6 engine that produces an impressive 663 horsepower, supplemented by an electric motor capable of delivering an additional 122 kW (167 horsepower). This engine was first introduced in the 296 GTB.
This marks the first six-cylinder engine to be installed in a road Spider bearing the Prancing Horse emblem. It unleashes a staggering total power output of 830 horsepower, the highest in its class, providing performance levels previously unimaginable, accompanied by a unique and innovative sound that passengers can fully enjoy when the car is convertible.
History of the V6 Engine in Ferrari
The first Ferrari V6 engine featured a 65-degree architecture and was debuted in 1957 with the 1500 cc Dino 156 F2 single-seater. In 1958, larger displacement versions followed in the front-engine sports models 196 S and 296 S, along with the 246 F1 that helped Mike Hawthorn secure the driver’s championship title that same year.
Design of the 296 GTS
The name of the car combines its total displacement of 2.992 liters with the number of cylinders in its engine and the initials of Gran Turismo Spider, showcasing the significance of this new engine in marking a monumental change in the new era for Maranello.
The hybrid engine system of the 296 GTS ensures exceptional ease of use while reducing throttle response times to zero, with a range of 25 km in the fully electric driving mode eDrive.
Retractable Hardtop
The retractable hardtop (RHT) ensures a high level of comfort for passengers. When folded, it features a sleek and sporty design, and when closed, the roof shape closely resembles that of the 296 GTB.
The lightweight retractable hardtop can be opened or closed in just 14 seconds, even at speeds of up to 45 km/h.
Assetto Fiorano Package
To cater to customers seeking to maximize the power and performance the car can deliver, it is offered equipped with the Assetto Fiorano package, which includes lightweight features and aerodynamic modifications, similar to those adopted in the SF90 Stradale model.
