GMC Yukon Denali Review
The GMC Yukon, known in the Middle East as the Denali, is essentially a more upscale version of the Chevrolet Tahoe, while being less luxurious than the Cadillac Escalade.
In fact, they share many similarities, with the primary difference being the levels of luxury: starting from the Tahoe, then the Yukon, and finally the Escalade.
Performance
The Yukon features a 6-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive, powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine that delivers 403 horsepower. In our experience, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in about 7.5 seconds. The responsiveness is quick; however, when you press the brakes to overtake another vehicle, there is a slight delay in response, which is similar to the Tahoe.
Overall, the performance is comparable to that of the Tahoe, which we previously reviewed. Read the report for more details.
Interior
The interior is quite similar to that of the Tahoe. The entertainment system is identical, and it appears to have the best sound system in its class providing a surround experience. The main differences include the larger engine compared to the Tahoe LTZ, a heated steering wheel (though who really needs this feature?), a distinct front grille, and more aesthetically pleasing dashboard colors with improved materials. In other words, it's the same vehicle but more luxurious.
The Denali model features an automatic rear suspension leveling system, similar to the Tahoe, so we did not notice any difference. Only the Denali comes with the 6.2-liter engine, while the other Yukon models are equipped with a 5.3-liter engine.
Summary
As Americans say about these three brands—GMC, Cadillac, and Chevrolet:
- GMC: is known for its professionalism.
- Cadillac: is associated with luxury.
- Chevrolet: is for the everyday buyer!
