Honda has just pulled the veil off its futuristic "0 Series" at CES 2025, giving us a tantalizing preview of what their electric vehicle lineup might look like by 2026. The stars of the show? The sleek Honda 0 Saloon and the versatile 0 SUV, both of which promise to redefine what we expect from Honda's electric offerings.
The 0 Saloon: A Blade Runner on Four Wheels
First up is the 0 Saloon, which might just be the most radical design Honda has ever entertained. This wedge-shaped beast looks like it's straight out of a sci-fi movie, with styling cues that scream "future" but somehow nod to the past.

It's low to the ground, with a profile that's more reminiscent of a '80s supercar than a modern sedan. But don't let its looks fool you; this isn't just about turning heads. Honda is serious about this one being the flagship of its new electric lineup, boasting a "low height and sporty styling" that sets it apart from the sea of electric cars already on the market.
The 0 SUV: A Space for the Future
Then there's the 0 SUV, which takes a more practical approach but doesn't skimp on the futuristic vibe. Built on the bones of last year's Space-Hub concept, this SUV aims for what Honda calls "an ever-advancing space."

It's designed for flexibility and visibility, with a blocky yet aerodynamic shape that gives it a unique presence on the road. Honda plans to roll this out first in North America in early 2026, followed by Japan and Europe, positioning it as the entry point into the 0 Series world.
Under the Hood of Innovation
Both cars will run on Honda's newly christened ASIMO OS, an homage to their pioneering robotics work. This system is set to offer "ultra-personal optimization," whatever that means in the real world, probably involving AI learning from your driving habits to make everything from your seat position to your climate control just perfect.

They're also aiming for Level 3 autonomous driving, which would let you take your eyes off the road in certain scenarios. Proper autonomous driving stuff this.
The Road Ahead
Honda has kept technical details close to the chest, but we know the 0 Series is being built with a "Thin, Light, and Wise" philosophy. This approach promises a battery that's thinner than those in Honda's current EVs, potentially lighter vehicles, and active aerodynamics to slice through the air more efficiently. They're shooting for a range of over 300 miles for the Saloon, which, if achieved, would make it a strong contender in the EV market.

With production slated to kick off in Ohio, the Series 0 concepts look set to kick off the proper EV revolution for Honda.
