Hyundai India Plans New Compact SUV to Compete in Market

Hyundai India is now planning to develop a new compact SUV to compete with the Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster. The aim behind this move is to make Hyundai a full-fledged passenger vehicle manufacturer, thus eliminating the gaps in its target market which are present now.

Market Overview

The compact SUV segment has been the target of manufacturers, including Honda and Volkswagen, as consumers are looking for cars that are higher, smaller, and cheaper. The Duster is quite popular in the GCC as the cheapest crossover you can buy, so it's obvious that others will follow suit.
