Designing Maritime Routes Between Dubai and Sharjah
Introduction
If you have ever driven from Dubai to Sharjah during peak hours, you know just how slow the traffic can be. To address this issue, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai is considering the design of maritime routes to connect the two emirates.
Preliminary Study
A feasibility study has been initiated, but the matter requires additional time before any official announcement can be made.
Official Statements
Dr. Youssef Mohammed Ali, the Executive Director of the Public Transport Agency, stated in an interview with Gulf Times that there are currently bus services connecting Dubai and Sharjah, and he does not see any obstacles to developing maritime transport routes.
He added that this initiative is part of Dubai's main plans to enhance the public transport network and invest in new transportation methods. However, it is still too early to provide any timeline for the implementation of this idea.
