Kia Stinger: High Performance and Sporty Design
Introduction
After five years of modifications and enhancements to their first high-performance vehicle, Kia unveiled the Stinger at the Detroit Auto Show as part of the 2018 model year. With its stunning and sporty appearance, the Kia Stinger received significant praise from attendees who witnessed its debut.
Exterior Design
Combining elements from the Kia Optima and Hyundai Genesis, the Stinger's design features a sporty character and a commanding stance. It is equipped with LED headlights, air vents on the hood, side air intakes, and prominent curves along the sides. Additionally, the car boasts a distinctive set of 19-inch wheels and a sporty rear diffuser with dual exhaust pipes, all contributing to its desired appearance.
Interior Cabin
The cabin exudes luxury from the first glance. Kia has made a commendable effort by incorporating Nappa leather on the seats and a stylish dashboard design, featuring a 7-inch touchscreen paired with a 15-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. However, it would have been a nice touch to include a flat-bottom steering wheel to enhance the sporty feel of the interior.
Engines and Performance
The Kia Stinger offers two engine options:
- Engine One: A 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4, producing 255 horsepower and 352 Nm of torque.
- Engine Two: A 3.3-liter turbocharged V6, generating 365 horsepower and 494 Nm of torque.
Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Driving Modes
The Stinger features five driving modes: Personal, Eco, Sport, Comfort, and Smart. When set to Sport mode with the V6 engine, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds, reaching a top speed of 269 km/h.
Pricing and Availability
As for the price, no official statements have been made regarding its final cost, but sales are expected to commence at some point during the current year.
