Land Rover proudly celebrates the sale of its millionth Range Rover Sport, which was sold in December 2020. This milestone is commemorated through a tribute film that highlights significant moments in the journey of this high-performance luxury SUV over its 15 years of production.
The Launch of the Range Rover Sport
The Range Rover Sport was launched in 2005, and the current second generation made a spectacular debut in New York City in 2013, aided by actor Daniel Craig. Its array of dynamic capabilities was showcased worldwide, achieving a record at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in the United States during its launch year and later recording the fastest crossing of the Rub' al Khali desert in Saudi Arabia. In 2018, the Range Rover Sport became the first vehicle to ascend the 999-step staircase at the "Heaven's Gate" site in China.
Enhancements in 2020
In 2020, the Range Rover Sport received significant upgrades, including the addition of a new Ingenium six-cylinder diesel engine featuring mild hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV) technology. New special editions were also introduced, along with the previously offered P400e plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain, providing customers with more options than ever before.
