Mobile Office: A solution for wealthy

Dilip Chhabria, a well-known name in the automotive industry in India has designed the mobile office for CEOs of the world. His firm, called DC design, takes old Toyota Highlanders and completely changes the interior by fitting things like WiFi, touchscreen TVs, airplane styled seats etc. This is all done to battle the biggest issue people face today on the road i.e. traffic. And, with time being money these days, such vehicles are the go-to mode of transportation for the rich and busy.
Another car modifier, called Becker Auto Design has been doing the same. This firm is based in Beverly-Hills USA and has been in the market for 40 years – starting off with customizing in car audio for high profile celebrities like Cher and Michael Jackson. Now, they have moved to mobile office space for wealthy US citizens. In the US, as per stats, people waste 60 hours per year in their car in Los Angeles.
Coming to the automotive pieces themselves, the offerings from Becker include a mobile office based on the Mercedes Benz Sprinter that’s aptly named as the JetVan. The JetVan has owners like Mark Wahlberg, Dr.Dre, Johnny Depp and Ben Affleck. So, it is clear the product is popular among celebrities. The JetVan can fit 7 people easily and seat them in a conference room-type environment. Inside the JetVan, you will find leather seats, wood trimmings, Wi-Fi, infotainment system, live TV, video on demand and a printer as well.
The design process is interesting where after consulting with the Client, the team at Becker create a 3D animated design of the customization. This allows for instant tweaking by the client before actual development. The cost can be anywhere between 200K to 500K USD.
