New Parking Fees in Al Khail Gate, Dubai
Introduction
Residents of Al Khail Gate in Dubai have faced challenges in finding parking due to a lack of available spaces and increasing fines for improper parking. In response, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced parking fees of 4 AED per hour, applicable 24/7, with a daily maximum of 32 AED in this popular residential area.
Parking Permits
Hussein Al Banna, Executive Director of Traffic at RTA, stated, "The RTA will manage and operate the parking facilities in Al Khail Gate starting in the second quarter of this year. The parking area has been divided into different zones, with designated spaces allocated for residents and visitors."
Benefits of the Permit
The primary goal of this initiative is to prevent non-residential vehicles, such as rental car fleets, from occupying parking spaces for extended periods within the community.
- Annual permit for 2,500 AED.
- Six-month permit for 1,500 AED.
- Three-month permit for 1,000 AED.
The advantage of the permit is that it allows residents to access residential and tourist areas within both zones.
Residents' Expectations
Despite these new measures and added expenses, residents remain skeptical about whether this will truly improve the parking situation within the community.
