New Parking System in Abu Dhabi
Introduction
The Department of Transport has introduced a new parking system in various areas of Abu Dhabi.
Covered Areas
The areas included in this new system are:
- Hazza Bin Zayed Street to the north
- Sheikh Zayed Street to the east
- Fourth Street (Traffic Street) to the west
- Delma Street to the south
Cost
The parking costs are as follows:
- 2 AED per hour
- 15 AED daily in regular spots, from 8 AM until midnight
Information for Residents
Regarding residents:
- The maximum number of allowed parking spots is two vehicles
- The fee for the first vehicle is 800 AED annually
- The fee for the second vehicle is 1,200 AED annually
Free Parking and Penalties
According to the department, free parking will be available on public holidays; however, vehicles parked illegally will incur fines.
Challenges for Residents
Residents living in shared villas with other families may face difficulties as they will require more than two parking spaces, making it challenging to secure additional spots.
