Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS 2018 Review
They say that Porsche makes a 911 for everybody. There's the Carrera Cabriolet for those who simply want to pose around town, the 911 Turbo S for those who are always late, and the 911 GT3 for track enthusiasts. Among them is the Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS, the perfect blend of style and performance. It’s the car with a roof that gets eaten by a robot.
Exterior
The all-wheel-drive Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS, featuring a striking Carmin Red color, presents a serious stance in both appearance and performance. The GTS models are equipped with standard center lock wheels, which are among the most stylish features on any road car. These broader hips house a set of 20-inch rims that exude elegance.
The new Sport Design front apron highlights the sporty character of the car. The front end is aerodynamically optimized, with a low front spoiler and an extended rear spoiler to reduce lift forces on both the front and rear axles.
The blacked-out trim treatment adds a menacing aesthetic, balancing the nostalgic elegance of the classic Targa, now painted black instead of silver as seen on previous GTS models. The transformation from coupe to alfresco occurs in twenty seconds at the press of a button, showcasing a spectacular roof mechanism.
A strengthened chassis, widebody proportions, and four-wheel drive contribute to the vehicle's performance. Despite Porsche claiming a total weight of 1,660kg, the Targa 4 GTS swiftly navigates winding roads.

Interior
The cockpit is designed with the driver in mind, ensuring that everything is intuitively placed. Most controls are accessible through buttons, although the touchscreen infotainment system performs exceptionally well. Cabin upgrades include an Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel and supportive sports seats.
Engine, transmission, and suspension settings can be adjusted via a four-position dial on the streamlined steering wheel, which fits comfortably in hand. The rear seats are primarily for show; the real excitement is in the front.
Drive
With 450 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque, the turbocharged engine offers exhilarating performance. The engine revs build rapidly, accompanied by an enticing intake noise and a roaring exhaust that beckons you to push further.
Outstanding braking power is provided by 350 mm diameter brake discs at the front and 330 mm at the rear. The taut suspension delivers exceptional composure and comfort, with improved traction and well-weighted brakes, enhancing the focused driving experience.
On the road, the Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS offers a sensational drive, delivering more power than a standard coupe and a deeper exhaust note that adds to its aggressive stance. The 7-speed PDK transmission allows for precise control, with paddle shifters providing an exhilarating driving experience.
The power delivery is impressive, with substantial mid-range torque and minimal throttle lag. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under 4.0 seconds. On curves, the car exhibits virtually no body roll, thanks to its adaptive dampers, precise steering, and reliable brakes.
