Porsche Settles Dashboard Glare Lawsuit with Owners

Details of the Settlement
The settlement applies to owners of any 2007 to 2016 Porsche models with a Cognac, Luxor Beige, Natural Brown, Platinum Grey, or Sand Beige dashboard. The manufacturer has agreed to reimburse an amount ranging between $50 and $175.
Claim Process
Affected owners have until 21st September 2017 to claim reimbursement for their sunglasses, while owners who have made modifications to reduce the glare can submit claims until 25th June 2018.

Impact of the Settlement
The settlement could benefit over 74,000 individuals who have leased or purchased a Porsche in the past nine years. Current owners are set to receive between $75 and $150, while former owners can claim up to $50.
Conclusion
Although this situation may seem humorous, the action taken avoids substantial legal costs in a court battle and compensates owners for what could be perceived as a safety issue. It’s curious, as one would assume the owner of a $100,000 vehicle could afford a pair of $75 sunglasses.
