Volkswagen Scirocco: Updates on the Third Generation

Introduction

We received some spy shots of the third generation of Volkswagen’s Scirocco covered in camouflage and undergoing testing. It appears that only the front section of the car is receiving updates, although it hasn't been changed since its launch in 2008.

Exterior Changes

We’re expecting:

• Sharper lines
• A front grille similar to the one in the 2013 CC
• Tweaked headlights with new LED elements

Interior Updates

Regarding the interior, significant updates are anticipated, including:

• A new touch-screen interface
• Enhanced connectivity features
• New safety gear

Engine Options

As for the engines, VW hasn’t confirmed its plans yet. However, we expect that some of the latest engines found in the Golf may also be available in the updated Scirocco, specifically:

1. 1.4 L TSI with approximately 138 horsepower
2. Top engine: 2.0 L turbo producing 296 horsepower

Debut at the Geneva Motor Show

The updated VW Scirocco is set to debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show next March.
