Introduction
Following the implementation of the toll fee payment system for gates in Abu Dhabi on January 2, 2020, the Integrated Transport Center launched an awareness campaign after many drivers faced issues registering their vehicles. The traffic authorities have assured drivers who are still unregistered that there is no need for concern, as a three-month grace period has been provided.
Toll Fee Details
Starting from January 2 onwards, drivers passing through the toll gates in Abu Dhabi at the Maqta Bridge, Sheikh Zayed Bridge, Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, and the Arabian Gulf Road are required to pay 4 dirhams each time they pass during peak hours, which are between 7 AM and 9 AM, and again between 5 PM and 7 PM.
Exemptions and Daily Limits
No toll fees will be collected on Fridays and public holidays. Additionally, there will be no charges when passing through the toll gates outside peak hours. The maximum daily toll fee has been capped at 16 dirhams, with the following monthly limits:
- 200 dirhams per month for the first vehicle
- 150 dirhams per month for the second vehicle
- 100 dirhams per month for any additional vehicles
Vehicle Registration
Owners of vehicles registered in Abu Dhabi will not need to register on the website, as the Integrated Transport Center has created free accounts for all vehicles. Each driver will receive a text message containing their account details for activation.
