Mercedes-AMG Middle East held an exclusive track event to showcase their largest lineup of Mercedes-AMG vehicles to date. Known as the 2016 AMG World of Driving Performance, the event pitted almost all the AMG vehicles against each other at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. This event was AMG’s way of showing off the power of the brand to the customers and media. The models being tested included the following AMGs: A 45, CLA 45, GLA 45, C 63 S, C 450 S, GLE 63, GLE 63 Coupe, GLE 450 S, GLS 63, G 63 and the AMG GT S. All of the cars were fitted with Continental ContiSportContact tires. This was Continental's way of showing the durability of their super sport range of tires.

An annual event that is on the AMG enthusiasts list across the region, the 2016 AMG World of Driving Performance offers access to all participants to experience the performance oriented vehicles in a variety of activities that include drag racing, hot lap, autocross and drifting.
In my opinion, the drifting was the most challenging and fun activity of all where the C63s were to be driven on a wet course with the traction off. On the track, there were two rounds: Round 1 consisted of various AMG models thrashing the YAS Circuit whereas Round 2 was all about AMG GTs on the open tarmac. Also, there was a drag racing event between different AMG SUVs including the G63, GLS63, GLE63 and GLE63 Coupe. Unfortunately, the race couldn’t start due to bad weather.
