Launch Event

Launched in Oman to media representatives from the region, the Geely Emgrand X7 Sport is a masterpiece created by Peter Norbury and competes against the likes of the Hyundai Tucson. Embellishing the palatial entrance to the Hormuz Grand Hotel, the two-day event included:

• A blind test for quality
• A scenic drive across Oman

Driving Experience

Spanning over eight hours and 350 kilometers, the drive activity included three well thought-out stop points:

1. Fanja Wadi
2. Nizwa Old Fort
3. Alila Jabal Akhdar

Each stop intuitively demonstrated the car’s capabilities.

Performance

Mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, the 2.4-liter naturally aspirated engine, which puts out 155 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque, felt adequately powered throughout the drive until approaching and ascending the notorious yet stunning Jabal Akhdar.
