In the presence of regional media representatives, several company officials and dealer delegates, Honda Motor Co. Africa and Middle East Office pulled the wraps off its highly popular D-segment offering, the 2017 Honda Accord.

Revealed at the Dana Ballroom in the Four Seasons Resort located on Jumeirah Beach Road, the new Accord is seen donning a major facelift and a sportier stance. In addition to aesthetic improvements and the addition of a San Marino Red hue, the 2017 Accord features a number of interesting bits and pieces such as Honda’s Sensing Technology.

The revised countenance of the Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima rival, is bedecked by an intricately styled fascia and an all-new chrome grill that acts as a solid setting for the brand’s insignia. LED Daytime Running Lights are standard in all grades, while a sunroof makes its way as part of the standard kit in 3 out of 4 trim levels.

Well-appointed and far superior to its rivals, the cabin of the 2017 Honda Accord is available in two shades (ivory and black) and is embellished in wood or faux carbon fiber trim. Technology includes but is not restricted to, a Remote Engine Starter, Push Button Ignition, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Collision Mitigation Braking System, and Road Departure Mitigation.

Engine options include a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that whips out 189 horsepower at 6,400 RPM and a 3.5-liter V6 that produces an extremely healthy 278 horsepower at 6,200 RPM. As far fuel economy is concerned, the former returns 16.5 km/l while the V6 returns 13 km/l.
