Introducing the 2018 Nissan Bladeglider
The Japanese automaker Nissan made a bold statement at the Dubai International Motor Show by unveiling a vehicle that defies traditional classifications such as hatchback, SUV, or sedan. With the 2018 Nissan Bladeglider, Nissan successfully captured the attention and admiration of attendees with its distinctive design.
Design and Performance Overview
Initially introduced as a concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2013, the Bladeglider is now set for mass production in 2018. The 2018 Nissan Bladeglider features unique scissor doors, seating for three, and a powerful rear-wheel electric drive.
Design and Technical Specifications
The Bladeglider's design shares elements with its electric sibling, the Nissan Leaf, but differs significantly in various aspects. Notably, it boasts a higher speed, attributed to its 220 kW battery. This battery powers two separate electric motors, each generating 130 kW for the rear wheels.
- Power Output: 264 horsepower
- Torque: 707 Nm
These figures, particularly the torque, highlight Nissan's engineering prowess.
Performance and Speed
Weighing in at 1,300 kg, the Bladeglider, despite its substantial weight, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 190 km/h. While it may not be as practical or family-oriented as its sibling, the Leaf, its striking design and impressive power allow it to stand out in any crowd.
