2018 Nissan Pathfinder: Enhanced Power and Capability

اقرا المقال بالعربية

Introduction

Set against the breath-taking Al Hajar mountain range in Fujairah and adopting the theme of an African safari, Nissan launched the highly-anticipated 2018 Pathfinder to media representatives from around the region.

Key Features of the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder

Reborn with greater capability, the refreshed model carries on a legacy that began in 1987 with the launch of the first-generation model and welcomes more than just a flurry of aesthetic improvements.

Performance Enhancements

“For 2018, the Pathfinder receives much more than a typical facelift. It now offers more power, improved driving dynamics and new available driver assistance features for safe, comfortable family adventures,” explained Fadi Ghosn, Chief Marketing Officer at Nissan Middle East.

Internal and external changes see the introduction of direct injection, reeling in 17 horsepower and 14 Nm of torque over the previous model – bumping total outputs to 271 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque – while cosmetic alterations include a new V-Motion grille, in addition to reworked headlights, tail lights, and bumpers at the front and rear.

Driving Dynamics

Complementing its improved steering ratio are 11% stiffer springs upfront and 7% in the rear - reducing body roll and offering a more planted drive over all terrains. The third-gen CVT transmission (which it shares with the Maxima) shaves 50 kg off its predecessor and mimics the shifting pattern of a 6-speed automatic.

Pricing and Variants

Available in three grades (S, SV, SL), the Pathfinder wears a starting price of AED 119,000 for the 2WD variant, while prices for the 4WD version range from AED 126,000 to AED 169,000. A few notable features found on the fully-loaded variant are:

  • Motion-activated lift gate
  • Voice recognition system
  • Moving Object Detection
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • 13-speaker Bose audio system
