Sneak Peek: Honda Prelude Interior Unveiled

Honda has finally unveiled the interior of the new 2026 Prelude, showing a mix of design elements from both Honda and Acura cars. This follows a series of concept reveals and teasers, giving fans a better idea of what to anticipate from the return of the sports coupe.
Design and Features
The Prelude's cabin interior is almost identical to that of the Acura Integra, particularly dashboard design and materials. Some of the notable features include:
Dashboard Design: The dashboard is the same as the Integra, except with conventional air vents instead of the Civic's full-width metal vent design.
Control Interface: The middle console sports Honda's push button gear shift, drive mode select and electronic parking brake switch. A new "S+" button is also included, which is a reference to more driving dynamics.
Steering and Displays: The Prelude comes equipped with a digital gauge cluster and a tablet-sized touchscreen infotainment system, which is what you would expect from contemporary technology.
Powertrain and Performance
Under the bonnet, the 2026 Prelude is projected to come equipped with a hybrid powertrain that will include a 2.0-liter inline-four engine along with two electric motors. The configuration is said to provide up to 200 horsepower to the front wheels. Interestingly, the Prelude will lack a manual gearbox but will include an automatic setup instead.
The addition of the "S+" button implies that there has to be a sport mode that would increase throttle response and alter transmission behavior to provide more exciting driving. Shift paddles at the rear of the steering wheel can make drivers capable of controlling amounts of regenerative braking or mimic gear shifting.
Market Positioning and Availability
Placed between the Acura Integra and the Honda Civic, the Prelude is engineered to provide a sportier option in Honda's lineup. The high-end interior materials and design of the interior mirror this positioning strategy. Though the official launch date has not been revealed, the Prelude will enter the U.S. market late in 2025 or early in 2026.
