Bentley has shared a glimpse of the all-new Flying Spur set to be revealed by next year. While the British carmaker shared only a glimpse of the front of the car (which looks nearly identical to the predecessor), there is a big change coming to the Flying Spur.
Ultra Performance Hybrid System: A Powerful Upgrade
They say don’t judge a book by its cover and that saying is true for the all-new Flying Spur teased. While the one photo released by Bentley looks similar to the old Flying Spur, the new one will be featuring the brand’s Ultra Performance Hybrid system also seen in the newly-revealed Continental GT.
The Ultra Performance Hybrid is nothing but a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine combined with a single electric motor. In the new Conti GT, it produces a whopping 771-horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. Bentley says that being a PHEV, the Flying Spur will be able to do “at least 45 miles” in pure EV mode. Once the official WLTP figures are out, we’ll come to know more about it.
Bentley hasn’t revealed any information regarding the battery of the Flying Spur. However, it is rumored that the premium sedan could feature the Conti’s 25.9-kilowatt-hour battery pack.
Subtle Exterior Tweaks and ADAS Enhancements
While we did mention the resemblance to its predecessor, there are few things here and there that have been tweaked on the Flying Spur’s exterior. The grille now features a honeycomb design instead of vertical slits, the bumper intakes have been redesigned and there will also be an extra sensor for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
Bentley says that it’ll reveal more information "in due course." Rumour has it that the Flying Spur could be revealed in August during the Monterey Car Week.
