Key takeaways
SOUEAST's 10 years or 1,000,000 km on the S08 Luxury covers the engine and powertrain. The rest of the car is covered for 5 years or 150,000 km.
You would have to drive 100,000 km a year to reach the million-kilometre cap. At 20,000 km a year, a driver uses 20% of it in ten years.
Whole-car cover in our coverage runs from 3 years or 100,000 km to Geely's seven years or 250,000 km in the UAE.
Long cover comes with conditions: miss a scheduled service at an authorised centre and SOUEAST's cover can be voided.
MG and Geely say their UAE warranties pass to the next owner, which helps resale. Most other terms we hold do not say.

What the headline covers, and what it does not
The SOUEAST S08 Luxury reached the UAE at AED 99,900 with a warranty figure that stops people: 10 years or 1,000,000 km. Our guide to the car explains that the figure belongs to the engine and powertrain. A separate full-vehicle warranty covers everything else for 5 years or 150,000 km.

Item | Mileage cap |
Engine and powertrain, 10 years | 1,000,000 km |
Whole vehicle, 5 years | 150,000 km |
So for the second 5 years the engine and powertrain are protected and the rest of the car is not. Our guide warns that many buyers see the phrase 10-year warranty and take it to mean the whole vehicle for the whole period.
The package is still generous by local standards. It adds five years of roadside assistance and three years of free servicing, which the launch material defines as a 3-year, 60,000 km service contract.
A million kilometres you will never drive
The mileage figure is the easiest part of the headline to test. To use up 1,000,000 km in 10 years you would need to cover 100,000 km every year. A driver doing an illustrative 20,000 km a year reaches 200,000 km in a decade, which is 20.0% of the cap.
The same sum shows which limit ends the other warranties first. Their whole-car caps work out at 30,000 km to 33,333 km a year over the term. Unless you drive more than that, your cover runs out on the calendar, not the odometer.

YallaMotor analysis
Read the years, not the kilometres
For most private drivers the time limit is the one that counts. A warranty of 5 years or 150,000 km is in practice a five-year warranty, and a 10-year powertrain warranty with a million-kilometre cap is a ten-year one.
How the long warranties compare
Set beside other terms in our recent coverage, the S08's whole-car cover is good but not the longest. Geely's UAE distributor offers seven years or 250,000 km, and MG six years or 200,000 km on most passenger cars. BYD lists six years or 150,000 km for the complete vehicle, and GAC up to five years or 150,000 km.

At the other end, the Nissan Kicks carries 3 years or 100,000 km in the UAE, and Toyota states three years or 100,000 km in Saudi Arabia. Our guide gives the same as typical UAE cover. Geely's mileage cap is 2.5 times that figure and the S08's 1.5 times.
Every term above three years in the table belongs to a Chinese brand, and our guides describe two of them, SOUEAST and iCAUR, as new to their markets. As the iCAUR guide puts it, when a badge is unfamiliar the warranty has to do work that a known name would otherwise do. The V27 carries 6 years or 200,000 km on the vehicle in Egypt and 8 years on the battery.

The conditions that keep it valid
Authorised servicing only. S08 owners must have the car serviced through Elite Group Holding's authorised network. Miss a scheduled service there and the cover can be voided.
Wear items are out. Tyres, wipers and brake pads are usually left out of long warranties.
Batteries have their own clock. The S08's plug-in version covers its battery for 8 years or 200,000 km, and BYD lists eight years or 200,000 km for its power battery.
Not every term is published. Our Qatar guide to the GAC GS7 PHEV found the battery warranty was not spelled out at launch, and our XPENG guide advises confirming cover for the exact version you are buying.
Watch out
The cost of staying covered
Authorised servicing protects the warranty, and it has a price. Our Toyota service guide puts labour at a well-rated independent workshop 40% to 55% lower once a warranty has expired. A ten-year warranty tied to dealer servicing is also a ten-year servicing commitment, so ask what scheduled services cost after the free ones end.
Will it pass to the next owner?
A long warranty is worth more if it survives a sale. MG says its UAE warranty transfers to later owners under the applicable terms, and Geely says the same of its seven-year cover. Our coverage does not say whether SOUEAST's does, and for the iCAUR V27 the answer was not confirmed.
That matters for resale. A second owner who inherits manufacturer cover is taking on less risk, which is why transferable cover can make a used car easier to sell.
Two things to get in writing
Our own S08 guide shows why written terms matter. Its main text gives the engine and powertrain 10 years or 1,000,000 km. One of its answers says they are covered for life, with no mileage limit. Both cannot be right, and the launch material supports the first.
A warranty is also only as good as the company that honours it. When Kia changed distributors in the UAE in September, existing warranties and service agreements stayed in place without a break. Ask who stands behind the cover and where the nearest authorised service centre is.

Frequently asked questions
Is SOUEAST's 10-year warranty real?
Yes, for the engine and powertrain: 10 years or 1,000,000 km, whichever comes first. The whole vehicle has 5 years or 150,000 km, plus five years of roadside assistance and three years of free servicing.
Which brand has the longest car warranty in the UAE?
Among the terms our recent articles state, Geely has the longest whole-car cover at seven years or 250,000 km, and SOUEAST the longest powertrain cover at 10 years. We have not compared every brand on sale.
Do I have to service my car at the dealer to keep the warranty?
For the S08, yes. Servicing has to go through Elite Group Holding's authorised network, and skipping a scheduled service can void the cover. Our guide lists authorised-network servicing as the usual requirement in the UAE.
Does a car warranty transfer when I sell the car?
For the S08, yes. Servicing has to go through Elite Group Holding's authorised network, and skipping a scheduled service can void the cover. Our guide lists authorised-network servicing as the usual requirement in the UAE.
What does a car warranty not cover?
Wear items such as tyres, wipers and brake pads are usually excluded from long-term cover. Batteries in plug-in and electric cars normally sit under separate terms, such as 8 years or 200,000 km on the S08's plug-in version.
How we worked this out
We collected every warranty term stated in ten YallaMotor articles published between 30 August and 6 October 2026. They are terms as our articles report them, not the manufacturers' warranty booklets, and the Geely, MG, BYD and GAC terms come from an article of 30 August that we have not re-checked. Kilometres per year divide each mileage cap by its term in years. The 20,000 km a year is an illustration. Where our S08 guide contradicts itself, we use the figure that its main text, its tables and the launch material agree on. The iCAUR and Toyota terms are for Egypt and Saudi Arabia and are labelled as such.
Assumptions used in our calculations
Illustrative yearly distance: 20,000 km — A round figure for a private driver, the same one YallaMotor's running-cost comparison uses. It is not a measured average.
