Audi Middle East Orders 3,000 Handmade Soaps to Support Refugees
Audi's Initiative to Support the Community
Under the banner of #AudiTogether, Audi Middle East has ordered 3,000 handmade soaps from the social enterprise Sitti to support the organization and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). This initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of handwashing amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Order Details
The company has collaborated with the Jordanian Women's Work Foundation, which provides employment opportunities for refugee women, to procure these 3,000 handmade soaps. These soaps will be distributed as gifts to customers during the holy month of Ramadan. A portion of the proceeds from the handmade soaps produced by the women of Sitti will be donated to UNHCR to support life-saving initiatives, including:
- Water supply
- Healthcare
- Cleaning materials
These projects are implemented worldwide.
About Sitti
The name "Sitti" means "grandmother" in Arabic. This self-sustaining social enterprise supports women in the Jerash camp and also offers rehabilitation programs for women and girls. The organization's goals include:
- Providing education
- Enhancing skills
- Supporting programs that promote the independence and freedom of Palestinian refugee women and their communities

During the COVID-19 pandemic, UNHCR seeks to diversify its funding sources and explore innovative fundraising methods to reach those in need, particularly in these extraordinary circumstances. The agency supports refugee camps in over 96 countries that have experienced outbreaks, hosting more than 71 million displaced persons.
