Dubai Police Seizes Driving Licenses Due to Black Points
Statistics on Drivers Who Lost Their Licenses
Dubai Police reported that 580 drivers in Dubai had their licenses suspended over the past year, each accumulating 24 or more black points.
Details of Suspended Drivers
According to Colonel Saif Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Traffic Department, the breakdown of suspended drivers is as follows:
- 244 Emiratis
- 159 Pakistanis
- 124 Indians
- 245 from other nationalities
Penalties Imposed on Drivers
Licenses are confiscated after the first 24 black points for a period of 3 months. Upon a second offense, the suspension lasts for 6 months, and for the third offense, it extends to one year. Drivers must complete a traffic safety course to retrieve their licenses.
