Suspension of Public Transport in Dubai as Part of the National Sterilization Program
According to spokespeople from the Ministry of Health and Community Protection and the Ministry of Interior, all public transport services, including Dubai Metro, will be temporarily suspended from 8 AM on March 26 until 6 AM on March 29.
Reasons for the Suspension
During this period, all traffic and transportation services, including metro services, will be halted as part of the national sterilization program. The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Interior have urged all citizens to:
- Stay at home during the sterilization period.
- Only go out for essential needs such as buying food and medicine.
- Attend work in vital sectors, including:
- Telecommunications
- Energy
- Health
- Security
- Education
- Pharmaceuticals
- Postal Services
- Water and Food Sectors
- Aviation
- Gas Stations
Exemptions for Vital Services
The Ministries of Health and Interior have also stated that food distributors and both large and small grocery stores, as well as pharmacies, will be allowed to operate to meet the needs of citizens.
