Ferrari unveiled the all-new Ferrari FXX K at the Ferrari Finali Mondiali at Yas Marina – Abu Dhabi this week. This new car is the track-only version of the top-of-the-line hypercar – the LaFerrari.
The FXX K is powered by the same 6.3 liter V12 mated with an additional electric motor but it’s tuned to produce a whopping 1035 BHP and 900 Nm of torque. The ‘K’ in the name suggests the presence of the onboard KERS hybrid system.
Ferrari has also managed to strip 90 kg from the car and added an eye-popping aero upgrade which includes:
- All new rear spoiler
- Two-part splitter in front
- Extended side skirts
- Vertical fin
All the aerodynamic mods results in 50% more downforce i.e. 540 kg at 200 km/h. Other race spec’d mods include 19” and 20” Pirelli slicks in the front and back respectively while braking is handled by those large carbon-ceramic brake discs.
40 examples were made costing 3.1 million USD and all have been sold to the lucky customers already. But if anyone is planning to witness these unique samples of automotive prowess, they need to head on to the tracks as these cars are not road-legal and will be kept under Ferrari’s supervision.
