Raj Nair, Ford’s Executive Vice President of Product Development and Chief Technical Officer, stated: "In celebrating the anniversary of Ford's victory at Le Mans, this historic triumph has always been part of the Ford GT's legacy." Design of the Ford GT Heritage '66
Exterior Design
The Ford GT Heritage '66 features an exterior design in shadow black, complemented by silver stripes and exposed carbon fiber accents. Additionally, a snowy white color adorns the engine lines and doors, while the car rides on 20-inch golden aluminum wheels.
Interior Design
Inside, the car showcases carbon fiber touches on the ebony wood-trimmed leather seats, complete with headrests adorned with the Ford emblem. The dashboard, pillars, and roof are also equipped with ebony wood leather, embellished with golden accents. Just like the 1966 racing car, the seat belts feature a striking blue fabric.
Design Insights
Jarin Nkoguji, the exterior design director for the car, remarked that the team revisited the fundamental design of the Ford GT. While the design is based on the GT40-2 racing car, new touches have been added to align with contemporary aesthetics.
