Free Parking in Dubai

Details of the New Directive

Public transport users in Dubai can now enjoy free parking at bus and metro stations, following a directive from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai.

Changes to the Previous Regulation

The 2009 regulation has been amended to allow public transport users free parking, including at metro stations, for up to 24 hours.

Parking Fees for Non-Public Transport Users

Those who wish to park but do not use public transport will need to pay the following fees:

  • 10 AED for parking up to 5 hours.
  • 50 AED for parking over 5 hours.
  • 3,000 AED for a six-month parking permit.
  • 5,000 AED for a twelve-month parking permit.

Fines Imposed

Individuals without a permit, or who exceed their allotted parking time, will incur a fine of 100 AED per day, for a maximum of 10 days.

Implementation of the Directive

This directive will come into effect upon its publication in the official gazette.
