Jaguar recently launched the F-Pace. The new SUV is bound to turn some heads as it is the first SUV for Jaguar. So let's have a look at it in detail.

Jaguar has taken a very bold step with the F-Pace. The brand has realized the fact that the premium crossover market is a gold mine right now and they have to be a part of it. Recently, Maserati also had unveiled their offering called the Levante. So, this market is getting more and more exposure by the day and soon we will see more makes targeting this segment. One might ask why Jaguar is making SUV as the sister brand Land Rover already does that. But, Jaguar have studied the market well and made F-Pace to battle the likes of Porsche Macan, BMW X3 and Audi Q5. In other words, the Land Rover brand doesn’t have any product competing in this market segment so Jaguar has played it safe and smart.
Coming to the car itself, the Jaguar F-Pace takes the exterior looks from the sedans like the XE and the XF. The front and the back in particular look and feel like a proper Jaguar however the F-Pace looks more aggressive and is higher than the sedans. The shape of the F-Pace is not designed to look like a hardcore offroader and this works. It is meant to be a vehicle driven on road and in the country side. The car is a typical Jaguar from the inside and anyone who has driven a Jaguar before will feel right at home.

The Jaguar F-Pace is powered by a 3.0 liter V6 petrol engine mated to an eight-speed ZF gearbox. There are diesel versions as well but they won’t be coming to this market. The petrol engine has 2 variants. One variant produces 340 BHP and 450 Nm of torque while the other – more powerful variant – produces 380 BHP and 460 Nm of torque. The SUV takes about 5.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.
