Looking At The BMW Neue Klasse SAV That Could Come To The UAE

As far as the BMW Group is concerned, the BMW Vision Neue Klasse X will be an all-electric SUV – as BMW calls it – a Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV). As per the Bavarian carmaker, if all goes to plan, the new BMW Vision Neue Klasse X could see the light of day in 2025. As much as this German brand is concerned, its EV-exclusive underpinning has been the one that has been making the news over recent years.

When it comes to the BMW Vision Neue Klasse X, it will not only boast sustainable materials and design philosophies but also technologies that will put it heels & shoulders above everything that BMW makes right now. Speaking of which, these new BMW EVs are scheduled to be produced in Debrecen, Hungary. BMW hopes to combine its philosophy "Sheer Driving Pleasure" and “individual mobility.”

Speaking on this motive was Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG, who said, “Together with the BMW Vision Neue Klasse, the BMW Vision Neue Klasse X showcases the breadth of our future BMW model line-up. The Neue Klasse reflects the variety of all the models that customers want today and in the future – from sporty sedan, with all its derivatives, to modern SAV family. In this way, we are underlining that the Neue Klasse is much more than just a car or a specific concept; it is redefining the BMW brand – and, at the same time, will be more BMW than ever.”

The prototype of this is supposed to be the BMW Vision Neue Klasse sedan, which debuted back at the IAA Mobility 2023 event. As with its previous SAVs, BMW is hoping that the its upcoming Vision Neue Klasse X will be as much of a hit with drivers as its previous models within the same genre. As per the brand, the next-gen BMW Vision Neue Klasse X will embody exterior design features that accentuate dynamism and sportiness – characters that promote the brand really well.

According to the BMW Group, the BMW Neue Klasse incorporates factors such as electric, digital, and circular. All these takes into account features like the BMW iDrive, BMW eDrive technology, and the German brand’s overall manufacturing concept – this involves production, operations, disassembly and recycling. When it comes to the motive force of these new-age BMW EVs, there is a bunch of new in-house programming that helps control everything active on these cars.

Few can explain this entire philosophy as well as Frank Weber, a member of the Board of Management of BMW AG. Weber said, “Neue Klasse means BMW driving at an even higher level. The BMW of the future will have four totally new super-brains: high-performance computers working smartly together on what, up until now, was processed separately. We developed the first super-brain completely in-house. It integrates the entire powertrain and driving dynamics with up to ten times more computing power. The second super-brain will enable the next quantum leap in automated driving. Going forward, we will combine four key control units in a single high-performance computer. The result will be more dynamic performance, more precision, more efficiency and even more fun to drive.”

Depending on the model, the exterior design of the BMW Vision Neue Klasse X will incorporate a high ground clearance, short overhangs, a long wheelbase, and perhaps even a hatchback-inspired two-box styling. This should then lead to a practical interior that affords its occupants an airy spaciousness, courtesy of large windows & a panoramic glass roof, and a cabin featuring warm color tones. Then there are features like BMW Panoramic Vision, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, BMW 3D Head-Up Display, an integrated front Central Display, and multicolor LED ambient lighting.

The BMW Vision Neue Klasse X should be powered by an 800-volt system, backed by the German brand’s eDrive technology that allows for 300 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes of charging – translating to at least a 30 percent charging advantage over some other models. The BMW Vision Neue Klasse X also features an exterior design that brings down the drag coefficient by 20 percent, which also helps further the range by 30 percent.
