Nissan's Revolutionary CMF-EV Platform for Electric Vehicles
Nissan has previewed its all-new CMF-EV platform that will underpin upcoming electric models. The carmaker refers to this platform as a ‘magic flying carpet’ within its engineering and design teams, allowing for boundless creativity in vehicle design.

By placing the air conditioning unit further forward and optimizing the front and rear seating positions, Nissan has enabled the Ariya, the first car built on this platform, to feature a spacious cabin.
The CMF-EV platform accommodates a variety of powertrain and drivetrain configurations, including Nissan's innovative e-4ORCE technology. This dual motor system is designed to deliver:
- Powerful performance
- Unprecedented control through precise motor input and braking

According to Pierre Loing, Vice President of Product Planning at Nissan, “The CMF-EV platform is a marvel of creative engineering; from providing exceptional living-room style space to accommodating our state-of-the-art e-4ORCE drivetrain technology, its versatility allows us to push the boundaries of engineering and design capabilities.”

This platform represents a significant leap toward the future for Nissan and is a key initiative by the entire Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. The CMF-EV platform will support 15 electric models from these three brands by 2030, contributing to the ambitious Alliance 2030 strategy.
