Pagani Huayra Roadster: The First Open-Top Car from Pagani Since 2012
Design and Weight
Pagani has recently unveiled the first Huayra Roadster since its original launch in 2012. The company has made significant efforts to reduce the weight of this new model compared to its predecessor.
While it is commonly understood that convertible cars tend to be heavier than their coupe counterparts, Pagani has taken a different approach, managing to produce this open-top car with a weight reduction of approximately 80 kg compared to the previous model.
Engine and Performance
The car is equipped with a Mercedes-Benz engine specifically designed for Pagani, featuring a twin-turbocharged 12-cylinder configuration that generates around 760 horsepower and 999 Nm of torque.
Complemented by a 7-speed X-Trac transmission, the car delivers impressive acceleration, although the exact figures have not been disclosed. However, it is expected to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 3 seconds.
Transmission and Suspension
Both the transmission and suspension systems are notable for their lightweight design and high performance. The company has reduced the weight of the transmission by 40% compared to the previous model, while the suspension system is now 25% lighter than its predecessor.
Roof Options
The Huayra will be available with two roof options:
- A hardtop made from carbon fiber panels and glass.
- A soft top that can be stored inside the car and installed easily when needed, especially in rainy conditions.
Launch and Pricing
The official launch of the car will take place at the Geneva International Motor Show, with an estimated price of $2.4 million. It is worth noting that only 100 units will be produced, and all have already been sold.
