Location of the Center
The Renault Technology Center is located in Guyancourt, a town in the southwestern suburbs of Paris, approximately 21.2 km from the city center. Opened in 1998 with a budget of €1 billion (around AED 4.12 billion), the center aims to bring together all stakeholders in the automotive industry in one place.
Employment and Developments
As of December 31, 2010, the center employed 11,000 individuals involved in every stage of vehicle manufacturing, from initial model studies to the final prototype ready for testing.
Facilities and Technologies
Interestingly, the center not only produces current Renault models but also future concepts, including self-driving cars and innovative vehicle designs.
The center comprises three main buildings:
- The Cell: The tallest building that houses research and engineering facilities.
- Advanced Administrative Section: Surrounded by a lake, it features several design studios.
- Prototype Construction Center: Extending from The Cell, it consists of smaller technical buildings.
Accelerating the Design Process
The Renault Center features three exhibition rooms dedicated to model design and projects, significantly reducing the design duration from 50 months to just 28 months.
Additional Amenities
Besides the lake, the center offers restaurants and barbershops, with the standout feature being a high-performance simulation system and a driving simulator with 3D vision.
