Toyota has revealed the 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid, introducing a round of thoughtful refinements to its best-selling compact SUV. Not a full redesign, the facelift improves on both looks and functionality, keeping the Corolla Cross in its class.
Telling Design Changes
Among the most apparent changes is the distinction between the hybrid and gasoline versions. The hybrid version gets a color-coordinated grille, providing a cleaner, more integrated front façade. The gasoline model, on the other hand, gets a more aggressive black grille, highlighting its old-school SUV charm.
Aiding in the visual styling is the addition of the Cavalry Blue exterior color, which has been present on some models such as the Tacoma and 4Runner. It is offered on some trims like the Hybrid SE and XSE, with a Jet Black roof as an extra for a dramatic two-tone appearance .
Interior Improvements and Tech Enhancements
Within, the Corolla Cross Hybrid is treated to a new center console that maximizes storage and convenience. The infotainment system gets its biggest boost with an optional 10.5-inch touchscreen, paired with an optional 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster on upper trims.
Comfort amenities have also been enhanced. The Cold Weather Package, featuring heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, is now an available option on the XLE AWD and Hybrid XSE trims and standard on the LE AWD and SE trims.
Powertrain and Efficiency
Mechanically, the Toyota carries over its current powertrain: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine combined with three electric motors, which yield a combined 196 horsepower. All-wheel drive is still standard, thanks to an electric motor driving the rear axle. Fuel economy is great, with an EPA-estimated 42 mpg combined.
For those looking at the pure-petrol version, it carries on with a 2.0-liter inline-four engine putting out 169 horses in front-wheel- or all-wheel-drive guise.
Trim Levels and Availability
The 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid will be in S, SE, and XSE trim. Pricing hasn't been formally released, but expect a moderate bump from the 2025 model which costed from AED 94,900 - 109,900.
