Toyota, in association with Al Futtaim Motors, recently released the all-new Fortuner in the UAE for everyone. The car is available in showrooms for customers to give it a go. This is the second generation of the Fortuner after releasing the first generation in 2005. Over time, it has become quite a popular car among families and offroad enthusiasts. So, we thought of comparing the new Fortuner with other SUVs in the price range. It is very competitive price range with makes offering proper SUVs as well as crossovers to meet consumer demands.

Mitsubishi Pajero
The most obvious competitor to the Toyota Fortuner is the Mitsubishi Pajero. It basically offers everything what the Fortuner does. However, the current model of the Pajero is very outdated and is in dire need of a complete makeover. The Pajero has an offroad pedigree including the infamous Dakar Rally so Mitsubishi knows what it is doing. It performs excellent offroad but onroad performance is where it lacks behind everyone. The dated 3.5 liter V6 engine is no more a competitive engine and the car feels too wobbly in corners to consider it a modern day car.
Honda CR-V
The other most popular choice in the region for the price tag is the Honda CRV. Honda provides the alternative to the hardcore SUV with a more civilized all wheel drive soccer mom crossover. It is smaller and less powerful than the V6 heavyweights but frankly it doesn’t that much power to do the job. It is meant to take the occupants from point A to point B with a better seat position and ride comfort. Moreover, if anyone feels adventurous then the CRV can take the adrenaline junkies to the beach or max wadis as long as there are no stress inducing terrains. All in all, it is a very good all rounder for modern families to do their day to day tasks with ease.
