Standing tall and with a commanding stance, the Mitsubishi Montero Sport with its taut contours and streamlined design, is embellished with an abundance of chrome along its broad fascia. While the Montero’s unconventional drooping rear end is borderline ghastly, the Fortuner’s design is far more traditional, something that just so happens to work in its favor.

Within the cabin, both the Montero and Fortuner conceal their pick-up truck underpinnings exceptionally well. Covered in leather and soft-touch materials, the interior of the Montero is far more pleasing, both aesthetically and to be within, with a splattering of piano black and silver trims, a chunky gear lever, large paddle shifters, and extremely supportive seats.

Starting at AED 81,900, the Mitsubishi Montero Sport offers great value for money. Granted, it isn’t as blessed in the aesthetic department as its rival from Aichi, but for a whopping AED 28,000 less than the Fortuner, you can most certainly forgive it for its shortcomings.
